The Jogshop Docklands Team

Sam

The Owner: Anthony Lambourne (Sam)

  • Sam founded The Jog Shop 23 years ago in George Street Brighton. The opening coincided with starting a family, repetitive injuries and the end of his competitive career
  • By the age of 40 Sam had completed over 100 marathons. His PB being 2h18 min
  • He was Britain's no 1 ultra runner during the 80's. His claim to fame is a 5h50min London to Brighton, and both times he has finished third overall
  • Sam is one of the few British people to have completed the Western States (100 miles)
  • Sam is well known in the running industry. He is a middle distance, track and field coach in the Sussex area and is still actively involved in coaching. For Sam running is not a business it is his life

Cindy

The Owner: Cindy Sullivan

  • Together with Sam I opened the Jog Shop Docklands in September 2006
  • I am a qualified aerobics and spinning instructor and run over 23 marathons and 15 Ultra marathons before my 30th birthday
  • In my running 'career' my personal achievement is a 7h53 min for the Comrades Marathon (56 miles)
  • My best marathon time is 3h04min at the London Marathon in 2003. I went back the following year, however I finished a minute slower than the previous year
  • In the interim I have had two children, however I would like to break 3hours for a marathon and hopefully 2009 will be the year

Warren

Warren Sullivan

  • Coming from a cycling background, Warren completed Iron Man in South Africa in 1989 in a time of 9h14 min. From then on he turned to running
  • Warren has completed 21 marathons with a PB of 2h56min
  • He has completed 16 ultra marathons. His personal achievement is a silver Comrades Marathon (56 miles) in a time of 7h26 min
  • Having asked him what his next challenge is, he mentioned that he would like to enter another Iron Man, 20 years from his debut. It looks like Iron Man UK 2009 is the one

Sharon

Sharon Newell

  • From 15st 2lbs to 8st 8lbs, Sharon has had one adventure. Through sensible diet and training Sharon has managed not only to lose weight but has gone from doing no exercise to completing the London Marathon twice with a personal best of 3h53min
  • As part of her weight loss programme Sharon started bodybuilding, achieving NABBA qualification and lost 6st 2lbs over a 14-month period
  • After 5 years Sharon decided it was time for a new challenge and decided to start running
  • When it comes to diet and nutrition Sharon is the person to speak to
  • Since joining the Jog Shop team Sharon has improved her PB over 10 miles by 11 minutes, (71 minutes)
  • Her goal is to run a sub 3h15min marathon

Richard

Richard St Clair

  • From a martial arts background (Taekwondo) Richard turned pro at the age of 17 winning 8 major titles
  • At the age of 31 Richard qualified as a personal trainer, started running and cycling and completed his first iron man
  • He has run 12 marathons, his PB is 2h52min. At the age of 40 Richard took the next step and ventured into the world of Ultra Marathons. In 2007 he ran his first comrades marathon (56 miles) and finished 8h05min
  • Richard is running The Western States (100 miles) at the end of June and would like to get a silver medal. (160 km in one day). Watch this space
